SPRINGFIELD – Rep. Orlando Ramos, who took office this month, announced the hiring of his attorney and the location of his district office.
In a press release, Ramos, D-Springfield said Ayanna Crawford will be his legal advisor. Crawford is a retired Springfield Public Schools educator who received a Masters Degree in Education from Springfield College in 2006.
“Public service has always been my passion,” said Crawford. “In life, you have to stand on what you believe in and support those who are like-minded. As such, I am very humble to take this opportunity and look forward to working with Representative Ramos on our common goal of making our church a better place. “
Crawford is also active in the community. She is a volunteer and board member of Women to Watch USA, including vice chairwoman of the women’s NAACP committee and chairwoman of the Democratic Committee of Division 8. She is the coordinator of the Be Well program, where she helps develop a health and safety curriculum has contributed to fitness and nutrition for girls, a statement from Ramos’ office said.
Ramos also announced the location of its new Springfield District Office at 640 Page Blvd., Suite 108.
The office is currently only open for appointments for the first part of 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, Ramos said.
